Reports say, tools like Workable and Hired optimize the hiring process for Zego

Olivier Parent, Zego’s Head of Talent Acquisition for nearly three years, boasts over a decade of experience in expanding talent departments, particularly focusing on startups and scale-ups, prioritizing efficiency for Gig Economy drivers. Zego, an insurtech firm, initially offered motorbike insurance solutions for gig economy professionals. It expanded to provide tech-driven commercial motor insurance solutions. Their mission is to simplify and make insurance affordable for various professionals, from taxi fleets to self-employed delivery riders. Since its 2016 inception, Zego has secured over $200 million in funding, earning the UK’s first Insurtech Unicorn title, transforming from a startup into an industry leader.

Olivier brought Hired.com on board following prior success at Zopa. Workable was already integrated into Zego, a seamless fit due to its bi-directional integration with Hired. Zego’s integration statistics through Workable demonstrate significant improvements: a 25% year-over-year reduction in Time to Fill, over 900 hours (112.5 working days) saved with self-scheduling, and thousands of new candidates sourced monthly.

AI usage at Zego mainly focuses on optimising message outreach for better candidate engagement. While exploring AI’s potential to streamline interviews, ethical considerations remain pivotal. Managing an overwhelming volume of applicants is a challenge. Zego employs strategic tools like knockout questions via Workable to handle this, ensuring a smoother selection process.

Both Hired and Workable offer DEI features to promote fairness in hiring, including underrepresented talent discovery, bias reduction modes, and salary bias alerts. Olivier recommends using AI as an optimization tool and focusing initially on administrative tasks to enhance efficiency in recruiting.

Zego leverages Workable’s candidate resurfacing feature to reconnect with highly evaluated past candidates, effectively reducing costs and improving the hiring timeline. Hired’s engaged candidate pool complements Workable’s tracking capabilities, facilitating seamless evaluation and recruitment processes.

The seamless integration between Workable and Hired stands out, saving considerable time by streamlining workflows and managing candidate statuses effortlessly. Workable’s impact in aiding over 27,000 companies, including Zego, showcases its scalability, efficiency, and support in making successful hires, regardless of the scale of recruitment.
