5-Year Maternity Policy: A Game-Changer for Working Moms

Mahindra’s commitment to supporting women, especially during their journey into motherhood, shines through its newly introduced five-year maternity policy. This progressive policy aims to empower women to excel as both mothers and professionals without compromising their career growth. The comprehensive policy extends robust pre-childbirth support by reimbursing 75% of the costs for two IVF treatment cycles. Expectant mothers receive premium travel accommodations and commute reimbursements in the final trimester, ensuring a comfortable experience.

Following childbirth, new mothers are entitled to an extended maternity leave of 26 weeks, even in cases of adoption or surrogacy. In unfortunate instances of a miscarriage, they receive 45 days of leave, with maternity-related expenses reimbursed up to Rs 1.25 lakh. Post-maternity, the policy continues to offer support for three years. It allows flexible work schedules for new mothers at the base location, along with a two-year baby care allowance of Rs 5,000 per month.

These benefits significantly contribute to the mental and physical well-being of expectant and new mothers, fostering their overall health throughout their maternity journey. Importantly, the policy ensures that these women remain eligible for performance pay and promotions during their leave period, and upon their return, they are offered similar or equivalent roles.

Mahindra’s ‘Back to Mahindra’ initiative further encourages women who took a career break to return to work, offering a one-year sabbatical for childcare up to 12 years of age. Additionally, all women employees receive a safe transportation facility between 8 pm and 6 am, emphasizing the company’s commitment to their safety and well-being.

Mahindra’s progressive five-year maternity policy is a testament to its commitment to supporting women through every stage of motherhood. By offering comprehensive benefits, flexibility, and career opportunities, the company ensures the well-being and empowerment of women, fostering a thriving and inclusive work environment.
