AI Surge Causes Resume Inflation; Training Sees High Demand

In the past few months, there has been a strong demand for AI in the corporate world, pushing job seekers to enhance their CVs as per the results of an interview published by ResumeBuilder on September 18. This survey revealed that almost half of the recent job applicants admitted to falsifying their skills related to AI during the recruitment exercise.

The harsh employment environment could be forcing people to make decisions based on desperation. Job seekers are desperate in the intense competition and limited opportunities.

However, there is a positive side to this issue; employees are willing to undergo AI training, which could be one of the opportunities to improve this technology. The results revealed that half of the respondents intended to learn through self-teaching AI tools in this particular year. An even greater number stated the intention to take AI classes.

This year earlier research emphasized that numerous office employees are confident about AI at work, but they don’t have appropriate competencies. Moreover, they demand opportunities for learning which will address the skills gap between what they know and what their employers expect to see in them.

According to the study, employers, especially those who will use generative AI, should offer employees opportunities for learning and development. There is a growing demand for AI skills, and employers have no choice but to ensure that their employees have the necessary knowledge to make productive use of this power.

In conclusion, the current AI surge has not only piqued the interest of businesses but has also prompted job seekers to embellish their AI skills to secure opportunities in a competitive job market. However, the path to success lies in genuine skills development, with employees increasingly seeking AI training to bolster their capabilities. It is incumbent on employers to fulfil this demand and help their workforce acquire the skills needed to navigate the AI-powered landscape effectively.
